August 2013 "Rants & Raves"

August has been an incredibly busy month for me, and like the other months it appears to be going by way too fast.  The first part of the month my daughter and I returned from Georgia from vacation and visiting family and friends.  It is hard to believe that this was our last “Mother-Daughter” vacation before her baby arrives.  Today is the beginning of her third trimester so it won’t be long now!  I spent this past weekend painting their bedroom, and will soon be organizing her baby shower.

Also on the personal note, I have abruptly ended a relationship that should have ended months ago, so “Single again”.  I have chalked it up to a life lesson and honestly feel that a weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I am looking forward to new possibilities.

I did manage to add a new feature to my website this month, and that is it now shows my Twitter feed.  I am hoping to use this to update clients on my availability.  Though I have had a Twitter account for a while, I don’t use it often, so bare with my while I get into the swing of things.

I had the pleasure of meeting a client from Michigan this month and her friends here in Richmond.  I don’t get to do group readings too often and I enjoyed this one tremendously!  If you’re in the Richmond, Tri-Cities area, email me for more information on group readings.

August also finds me setting up for the next “Tarot Card Workshop”  that will be upcoming in September and “Ghost Hunting 101” in October.  I plan to release the dates on both in the next week or so.  As of now it appears that CVAPI will be hosting an event in North Carolina in October, more information on this soon!

Mid August kicked off a 12-week fitness challenge for me with today being the start of week number 3.  No gym and no supplements, and honestly it has definitely been a challenge!  The good news is that I am more than pleased with the first two weeks results and am pushing forward with this adventure.  And YES, I do use Reiki for this as well! (Something to ease the body aches.)\

This month’s photo is of “Tiki”.  She is the latest addition to my family.  She appeared as a wild cat that would sleep on our Tiki Tavern on the patio.  (Hence the name Tiki).  She has been here since June and just last week, has finally allowed us to pet her.  I find it funny that she also matches our other two animals in the house.  (As well as being demanding as them at dinnertime!)  She fits right in.

The last 6 weeks I have found that I need to slow down and listen to my own advice.  It appears lately that I have gotten out of the habit of this.  Though I don’t read very well for myself, I seem to have ignored some things that were upcoming that I knew about.  No more of this!  I have spent the last few days on grounding myself and restoring a much-needed balance.   I could not feel better! 

Though spring and summer have always been my favorite months, I find myself looking forward to fall this year.  I am looking forward to the leaves changing, some cooler temperatures, Halloween, and of course the arrival of “Baby J”.

June and July 2013 "Rants & Raves"

Well once again I have let the entire month of June slip by me.  I need to get into the habit of when I remind myself to update the blog, to actually stop what I am doing and do so!  June seems like it went by really quick.  Although spring and summer are my favorite months, they tend to go by very quickly. Central Virginia Paranormal Investigations  (CVAPI) wrapped up another interesting case at the beginning of June.  Currently we are trying to get that website updated.
The last few weeks I have enjoyed hearing your stories about Reiki.  Those that have found what it really works well as well as the students that I currently have, and their stories about working on family and friends. ( I am currently due for a session on myself as we speak!)
From June 26th on up until July 20th, we fall under Mercury Retrograde.  What does this mean to you?  It is not the time to sign contracts or begin anything new.  This is a time frame were most will experience a high level of anxiety.  It is also the time frame to which you can expect the unexpected.  This particular retrograde has seemed to hit the "Family" zone pretty hard.  There are a lot of you that appear to be struggling with some type of family issue at this time.  Avoid the negativity as much as possible!  If you are the one feeling negative, then its time to fall down and regroup.  Though Retrograde ends on July 20th, it is common for the after effects to linger around for a couple of days.

"Meet Jaselyn Cassidy"

I usually hate ultrasound pictures but this one came out really clear.  "Jaselyn Cassidy" is a baby girl, and my grand-baby!  She will arrive in November.  She was very active during her ultrasound and likes to play with her hands.  Maybe a musician or a gymnast? 

My daughter and I are hoping to take a little time off to visit some family at the Georgia/Tennessee line while she can still travel soon.

How many readings do you do in a day?
Honestly it depends a lot on my availability.  Like any business some days are busier than others.  I also keep odd hours for my clients in the UK.
How do I get an email reading?
For any type of psychic reading visit my website.  Under the section of psychic readings you will find several options.  Some prefer to call now, others by appointment.  Email readings are always a popular option for privacy regarding spouses or while at work.  They are generally answered within 24 hours.
Will you ever be in my area?

How do I become a member of your paranormal team?

Like anything I guess sometimes I do.  I can only read but for so many before I have to take a break or a little time off.

May 2013 "Rants and Raves"

Wow, the year is REALLY flying by.  I find it hard to believe that we are quickly approaching the half way mark to the year!

I hope all of the Mother’s out there had a fantastic Mother’s Day.  This was the first Mother’s Day for me without my Mom.  However, my daughter and my boyfriend helped me get through it by making the day special.  Her birthday is also at the end of this month, so Happy Birthday to all of you Gemini’s out there!

The Distant Learning Course for Reiki is taking off and I am truly enjoying my students.  I love hearing what works for them and what doesn’t.  Everyone appears to be having a lot of fun with it and I have been able to keep the price of the course at $99.  Reiki for me remains the number one way to relax.  Do NOT let the "Chakras" overwhelm you, they are not hard to learn and once you do, you will never forget them.

I did have some issues with the main psychic line last week.  This problem appears to have been fixed and I am back up as normal.  The best times to reach me are between 1PM and 1AM Eastern.  Although I am available at varying times that is your best bet to make sure you get me.

My number one hobby is anything paranormal.  So I am excited that I will be out on an investigation late Saturday evening with CVAPI.  Also, I am seeking stories about the paranormal for my Examiner column; so if you have one to share, email me at Jackie@ms-swami.com with your contact information.  (You do NOT have to be local!)

Spring and summer...

"Transitions and Challenges", now let me explain:


This year, spring brings about "Transitions".  Changes in all areas, unfortunately, sometimes unexpected.  This is the time that we must remember the cliche' of "Change is good".  Changes occur when needed.  Although we may not LIKE change, or feel that there was no need for change, they DO happen for a reason.

How should you react when these changes occur?  Embrace them.  Good or bad.  They are occurring to allow for something new to come in.  Wanted or not, you should not try to stop them!

Where the spring months are all about bringing in "Transitions", this is leading up to what is in store for the summer months.  Now, PLEASE do not view this as negative when I say the summer months will present us with "Challenges".  Though that word itself may be a little unsettling  it is not always as bad as your fears.

These challenges are actually deemed as positive!  For example, they are changes that you thought you would not be able to make happen, but they do happen.  Challenging?  Meaning well deserved or you worked hard for those results!

To those that are a little sensitive, you may be able to sense that "Change" is in the air.  Part of this feeling you can credit to the crazy moon phases that we have seen so far.  We are now out of one of the roughest Mercury Retrogrades that I have seen in a long time.  THURSDAY APRIL 25th, we will all embrace what is known as the "PINK MOON".  (Unfortunately you will not see this from the United States.)  This simply means that the moon turns full under a lunar eclipse.  This will actually send out a strong wave of positive energy!

April 2013 "Rants & Raves"

     Yes, it does appear that I missed posting the "Rants & Raves" in the month of March!  If you follow my blog, you will notice that I quit smoking on March 1st.  YAY ME!  For those that smoke, I hope you will take the time to read that blog, because it REALLY was not as bad as I thought it would be.  I also had friends come in from New Jersey for a visit.
     As I am lining up the month of April, it looks like my schedule for psychic readings is now back on track.  I hope to schedule some time to get some updates up on my website soon.  One thing that you will notice is that the link to the Body Wraps has disappeared.  You can still find this product here.  With revamping my schedule, I have decided to let this go as a distributor, though I still use their products.  Since I have quit smoking I have started a new workout routine, so in a few weeks I will update you and let you know how that is going.  (YES, I have quit smoking and loosing weight at the same time!)
     In other news, I am super excited to announce that my daughter is expecting and due in November!  I think at this point I will have to set up something for those that are guessing if it will be a boy or girl!  (My weakness in psychic abilities is determining the sex of an unborn child!)
    In April I am also excited to work with a local college student in her studies of psychic abilities and the paranormal.  It appears that we will be spending some time together getting that college paper ready!

The "Mental" side to smoking

So, this is Day #26 for me and not smoking!  The first thing you will want to do is buy this book. (Under $10 at Amazon).  A friend gave it to me and you can read it while your still smoking.  It will talk about all of your excuses and how if you use willpower alone, you are setting yourself up for failure.  It will also spend a lot of time talking about becoming FREE.  As in free from nicotine.  (As well as talking about the fact that you will also find financial freedom which is not a bad thing!)

I was at a pack and a half a day until my mom got sick.  Then I went to two packs a day. 

This means that your ENTIRE day revolves around a cigarette.  When will you run out?  When will you need to go to the store?  Do you have enough money for your cigarettes?  Do they have a smoking area?  How long until you get a smoke break?  Can you smoke in their car?  The last cigarette for the evening….and then the cycle starts over.

In reality, it only takes 3 days to break your nicotine addiction.  After that, it is all mental.  The number one rule is IT IS NOT OKAY TO HAVE JUST ONE!  Why?  Because it is an addiction!  The same as an alcoholic cannot just “Have one” drink.

So lets talk about the excuses:

I enjoy smoking.  No you don’t.  No one likes standing out in the weather to have a cigarette.  After a few hours without one, they taste like crap and they stink!  No one enjoys spending his or her money on cigarettes.

I would quit but I’m scared I will gain weight.  (By the way, I think this is the WORST excuse ever.)  So this means as a smoker, you are currently at your “Ideal” weight and would not change a thing.  (Didn’t think so!)

I will quit when I loose weight.  If you haven’t done so by now, you’re not going to and your kidding yourself.

It is the only bad habit that I have.  Okay.  Wouldn’t you rather have a “Good” habit?

I am too stressed out right now.  In reality smoking does not “Calm” your nerves, you have brainwashed yourself into thinking it does.  In actuality it raises your blood pressure.

I will quit right after….  Obviously you will not, lol.

In all honesty I have quit twice before.  Once with Chantix, it was okay, but I still had the “Urge” for a cigarette.  Then I quit on the gum, and it was the same way the urge was still there.

This time I have quit on the patch.  (Doing the steps!)  For the “Mental” of what to do with my hands, I have an electric cigarette.  (Careful, several of them have nicotine, get the one that has blanks, or you will overdose with the patch!)  The electric cigarette, takes the pressure off when I’m driving or join my friends in the smoking area.  Oh yeah, get rid of EVERYTHING!  Cigarette case, lighters, and ashtrays!  (Remaining butts too, no dumpster diving!)  The patch REALLY takes the edge off, I can tell the very hour it runs out.  Yes, you are getting a small release of nicotine (Starting with 21mg, then 14mg, then 7mg, then nothing.)  But you are not getting anything else associated with smoking. 

The do not’s:

DO NOT stay away from smokers!  You need to learn to deal with it.  Smoke your electric cigarette, and when you find you would like to have one, or think you miss the smell, remind yourself YOU ARE FREE, they are not.

DO NOT think you can only have one.

DO NOT use willpower alone.  When you have the urge, set back and actually THINK about the excuses above.  Count how long you have been without one.  First the hours and then the days!

DO NOT let people bother you.  If they pick on you and offer you one, remember THEY are the addicts, NOT you.

Now onto what I have noticed in 26 days:

My energy level is through the roof!  (Started around Day 5).  This is turn had me start a new workout program.  (So yes, I am smoke free AND loosing weight!)  I sleep better.  I can take a deep breath like I never could before.  I am starting to notice the smell of smoke on everything.  And it felt really great to fill out the forms at the dentist office as a non-smoker!

So what are you waiting on?  Set your quit date and stick with it!  Some thought my quit date was “Too soon” after my Mother’s death.  Some thought I would change the date because I was on vacation when it hit.  Bottom line, once the date was set, I stuck with it!

February 2013 "Rants and Raves"

I am happy to report that I am actually writing this blog from the state of Georgia.  I have spent the past week working from the Tennessee/Georgia line and have had a blast!  A change of scenery is just what I needed!
I am back up to a normal schedule for psychic readings and Reiki.  I will slowly begin to catch up with CVAPI and Central VA Psychic Development & Paranormal Research. I am REALLY excited to see that spring will hit March 20th!
We are currently under mercury retrograde and this one seems to be hitting pretty hard.  It is normal to feel emotional or full of anxiety at this time.  I have seen a lot of this going around this week.
New for the month of March and April, it looks like I will be able to offer live in person readings to some in the Virginia Beach area, Chesapeake VA, Williamsburg VA and a couple of towns in North Carolina.  If you are in those areas, please send me an email at Jackie@ms-swami.com as the schedule is now underway.
I am playing catch up on emails and some things that I have put off in the last few weeks.  If time permits I hope to be able to host another open house soon.

Back to a normal schedule

As of today, (Thursday evening), and throughout the weekend, my schedule will remain on sporadic hours.  I will be up to a normal schedule for psychic readings on Monday, February 25th.  Upcoming in late March, I plan to hold a Meetup with Central Virginia Psychic Development & Paranormal Research, as well as CVAPI will pick up with investigation requests in the month of March. Random Availability...

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that my Mom lost her battle with breast cancer this week on Valentine's Day.  With that said, my availability for the next few days will remain sporadic.

  I do so appreciate everyone's kind words, prayers and support.  I cannot express what it has meant to me and my daughter.  When I am available it is a welcomed distraction as she was my number one fan, and supported my work 100%, and I LOVE what I do.  I plan to resume a regular schedule in a few days.
The out pour of condolences, has been greater than what I would have EVER dreamed of.  I would also like to mention a special  "Thank you" for the support from the paranormal communities across the board.
Please know that I have personally read every single email, text message and voice mail that you have left and accept my THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.  There is no way I could ever begin to reply to everyone personally.

Some advice for Valentine's Day

With Valentine's Day approaching tomorrow, I am seeing anxiety levels begin to rise.  So I thought I would take a look at this from some different angles...(This applies to both male and females!)
Lets start with those who are single.  Why are you stressing over this?  I find it perfectly normal for those that are single to show some anxiety on Valentine's day.  Possibly because you are feeling vulnerable or it is the one day of the year that you feel alone.  There is the key....it is ONE day of the year!

 So for all of you single folks out there lets go over the do's and don'ts:
DO...
Treat yourself.  This can be by going out with friends, picking up something you have been wanting, or expanding your horizons into meeting new people.
DO NOT...
Pick up the phone and call an ex!  Remember, they are in your past for a REASON.  There is no need to reopen that can of worms!
ADVICE...
This is one day of the year and you WILL survive!  If you find yourself sitting around feeling lonely, remember this.  "If you CANNOT be happy with yourself, you will NEVER make someone else happy".

Now lets move on to those that are seeing someone or are currently in a fairly new relationship.  First and foremost, let your anxiety go!  Here is where I see a lot of anticipation on what the other person expects.  Let go and have fun.
DO...
Recognize that special someone as your Valentine.  This has nothing to do with money and the simple things in life will score you BIG brownie points.  It is not always about the gift.
DO NOT...
Play Valentine's Day down.  It IS a big deal.
ADVICE...
Valentine's Day is the perfect "Excuse" to take things to the next level.  This does not have to be an engagement.  A simple commitment or taking the time in expressing what you feel will go a long way.

Finally on to those that are involved in a long term relationship.  Yes, you still have to recognize Valentine's Day!  Though you may have the perfect relationship, it is still important to remind them how important they are to you.
DO...
Apply every effort to do something special, even if you have been together for twenty years.  It is always nice to hear that you still care.
DO NOT...
Blow it off.  Even if you are in a holding pattern of not celebrating Valentine's Day, break that routine!
ADVICE...
You may feel that you already have them, but NEVER forget how important it is to KEEP them!

January 2013 "Rants & Raves"

And once again, it looks like I am a day late getting to this, lol. Hang in there with me as it has been a crazy month.  This months topic is on my Mom and Reiki.  (Pictured below, my Mom and my daughter.)

This month has revolved around my Mom who is in the final stages of breast cancer.  We had a wonderful time over the holidays and unfortunately she took a turn for the worst on January 4th.  Now that we are at February 1st we are down to days if not hours.  I can say that she is at peace and my family is doing well.  Although we knew this was the path we were on, it is much harder now that the time is here.  Your emails of your stories, prayers and encouragement have been a LOT of my support.

Another topic I wanted to discuss was "Reiki", and for those that are not familiar with it, it is also known as the "Healing Touch", or simply energy healing.  Cancer patients are fond of this, or anyone seeking pain releif.  I have told some of my current Reiki students that I would go a little further with this here in my blog.

My Mom has always been my number one fan in anything I do.  (Yep a little biased!)  She is the one that encouraged me learning Reiki to begin with.  She has always been very big into meditation, relaxation, reflexology and aromatherapy.  With her encouragement, I became a Reiki Master.  (Meaning that I am at the teaching level to certify others.)  She has always been supportive and LOVED learning about the chakras  (Your energy fields).  She was also a willing participant in my learning days as someone to practice on.

In giving a Reiki session, I personally experience many things as a practitioner.  Sometimes my hands may tingle or one become hot or cold.  The "alignment" of what I can see on someones chakras vary by many.  To the person receiving Reiki their experiences tend to be the same and its not uncommon to have no experience.

Summer before last, my  Mom had quit a stressful job, and asked that I come over one afternoon for a Reiki session.  Her session went well, although my right hand was very hot and hot to her touch around her chest.  It was approximately a month later that a knot surfaced on her breast to which she did not have checked out right away, or tell anyone about.  When she did we learned that she was in the late stages of breast cancer, and oddly enough it was on the exterior.  For a long time, I carried a guilt of that Reiki session until I spoke with one of her doctors at Massey Cancer Center. To my surprise, I learned that he was also a Reiki Master.  It was nice to be reminded that Reiki enters the body for the "Greater Good" and is to push anything foreign out in aligning the chakras.  So did the Reiki session push the tumor out?  We don't know, but we do know because it was exterior it was found.  I have also learned that it has been very common for odd things to heal on someone that I had no prior knowledge of.  Reiki certainly won't heal cancer, but it does play a significant role in their pain management, and I was surprised to learn how many publications this was mentioned in at the cancer center.

My Mom has continued to receive those Reiki sessions running with her latest one being the day before yesterday.  Throughout her cancer, I can say her sessions have been normal but the heart chakra has always been "Over inflated".  Two weeks ago, as things got really bad, I did a Reiki session on her, and found comfort and new meanings to the words "Surrounded by the white light" as she certainly was.  Her chakras were barely visible due to that surrounding.  The day before yesterday, she requested a Reiki session as the pain was unbearable and the medication was no longer working.  The best I could describe this is all of her chakras were there, but paper thin, she is still surrounded by the white light and the heart chakra is still inflated.  A few hours after her session she went to sleep.  As of now, she is still asleep.  And for me?  I have NO regrets.

New Year's Specials

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!  I wanted to drop a couple of lines about the New Year's Specials.
The first week of the year, it appears that everyone is seeking a reading for what 2013 will hold for them.  You will notice that I am currently running a special for those New Year readings on my website.  The main phone line system is setup for a flat $75 for 45 minutes.  (It will give us a 2-minute warning near the end of the call before it cuts us off.)  This rate will be in effect up through Sunday January 6th.  This gives you a reduced rate and a little extra time to cover all areas of your life for the upcoming year.

Next, "Distant Learning: Reiki Master Course, handbook and certification", this course will stay at $99 for a limited time only.  As much as I would like to commit to this rate for the entire year, I will have to play it by ear if I am able to do so.  I work one on one with my students learning Reiki.  Since it is a "learn at your own speed" course, I do not tend to get backed up on students.  However, if I find the reduced rate will present a problem I will be forced to make adjustments as I make sure that all of those learning Reiki get my undivided attention.

December "Rants & Raves"

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?  I am most certain that this caught your attention.  My December newsletter went out this month and it was signed, “Merry Christmas, Jackie”.  Apparently, I have offended some in doing so.  With that said, I think I will make December’s blog a little about my beliefs.

First of all, I come from a Baptist family.  My Grandmother who was a Sunday school teacher and led the missionary meetings for our church and she raised me.  My Grandfather passed when I was 12 years old and was a Deacon at our church for 17 years.  Growing up, going to church for me was not an option, you just did.

So what do I believe in?  Christianity.  I believe in God and Angels.  I believe in the bible and that everything in it did happen.  But I also believe that in “Freedom of religion”, we dissected the Bible into our own beliefs and adopted unified religion such as Baptist, Catholics, etc.  Bottom line, I believe in it all.

With that said, I also have friends that are Pagans and Wiccans.   You may be surprised to learn that we carry many similarities and it does not mean they are bad people.  They respect my beliefs the way I respect theirs. 

In doing a medium reading I can indeed see the other side.  I can also read Tarot cards fluently.  Does this make me a bad person because I am able to do something that others can’t?  I don’t believe so.  I do fully believe that it is a gift and for some unknown reason, I see things that others do not.  Many have asked if I ever had a near death experience, and the answer is yes. I had a full cardiac arrest in 1991.  I can say that things did not begin then, but did become much stronger after the fact.

Through working with the paranormal, I have also learned that evil exists as well.  I think they go hand in hand.  How can you believe in good and not evil, or vice versa?  I have also found with each of those cases that they have done something to draw it in to them.

Now to answer another question.  Do I ever regret working as a full time psychic?  That answer is simple, not at all.  I just wish I would have embraced it and done it sooner than I did.  I find a career in assisting people in need very fulfilling.

So back to the original question….Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?  I would have to say MERRY CHRISTMAS, because that is what I choose to celebrate. 

Now, moving on to December, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.  My daughter and I certainly did, and we had a wonderful Christmas with my mother.  I also was able to reconnect with a cousin that we have not seen in some time.  In addition to sneaking a little time off.

I still have the Reiki Course on sale for $99 and have had a good response.  I am currently trying to make some decisions on this.  I am toying with the idea of keeping the rate reduced as long as I don’t become overwhelmed with students.  The other idea I am toying with is establishing a forum or facebook group or something for those students or for those with just a common interest.  Of course that will be announced when I figure it all out!  Do I use Reiki on myself?  ALL THE TIME!

I am getting many, many emails asking about a New Years reading.  The email reading is up and available at www.ms-swami.com.  I will set up something for a New Years Special beginning New Year’s Eve running through the first week of January!  Details coming soon!

I will also be cranking out another book in 2013, and will have that underway in the next few upcoming weeks.  For the locals, Central Virginia Psychic Development &Paranormal Research, we did not get to do a lot in 2012.  Most of this was due to the uncertainty of my mother’s health.  Though I do not intend to let the group go, I will call on others in 2013 to assist me in organizing events.

I can say that I have rather enjoyed committing to updating my blog at least once a month and plan to keep up with that commitment in 2013!

November "Rants & Raves"

First of all YES I am aware that it is now December.  It appears that I ran out of month trying to get my blog up for November!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I certainly did.  I cooked this year and can say that I actually enjoyed it!  I find it hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner.

I also have a couple of local events coming up in the month of December.  With my paranormal team CVAPI, and author Pamela K. Kinney there will be a book signing and hands on paranormal investigation at “The River Road House” featured in her latest book Haunted Richmond II.  This will be held on December 8^th, for more information please visit www.cvapi.com.

My next event is Monday December 10^th at Brass Monkey in Chester Virginia.  This is a “Body wrap” party open to everyone.  Also, you will meet our leader, Wendy Gano, Presidential Diamond, and she can tell you how she did it in a year.

In other exciting news, I was asked to publish my 2013 predictions for a publication that I am very excited about and will announce this as it becomes available!

My schedule for psychic readings will remain the same in the month of December as I am looking forward to sticking close to home with my family for the holidays.  What else occurs in December?  My birthday!  Hats off to all you Sagittarius out there!

Now to answer some questions….  These questions are coming from “Caroline in South Carolina”, a long time client of mine.

Do psychic abilities run strong in your family?  Somewhat.  You hear many stories of how they skip a generation etc.  However, my daughter is a very gifted medium.  My mother carries a few abilities and can track it back to her great grandmother.  Overall, I think its hard to say, because they are rarely discussed.  I can say everything I have found has come from my Mother’s side of the family.

Is Sasha your only pet?  No, she is my Siberian Husky.  She is 12 years old and with me ALL the time.  (She is like the “Busch Bean Dog”, she hears all of your readings so be glad she can’t talk!)  I also have “Roxy” our cat, she is a Maine Coon and spoilt rotten as well.

Do you ever leave your area or go out of state for psychic readings?  Not very often, but I have before.  I expect you will see a lot more of this upcoming in 2013!!!

Do you spend a lot of time doing psychic readings for your family and friends?  Probably not as often as you would think.  My family and friends were the ones that pushed me to do this full time, and I am grateful that they did.  When the need arises, or in a crisis, they know I am there.  I guess being friends with a psychic can have its advantages!

What is your favorite way to spend your spare time?  Spare time, what is that? Lol.  I guess it depends on the seasons.  My favorite time of the year is spring and summer so those spare moments are generally spent on an activity outside.  I enjoy anything from cook outs with friends to hanging out in the park.  In the fall and winter months, the best way for me to spend my spare time is with a good book.  I love to read!  The problem is finding the time to do so.

Upcoming in 2013

           2013 will be a year that is all about “Changes”.  At present it appears that a vast part of the population have lost their perspective, as our country stands divided over the recent Presidential election.  This negativity will subside as things begin to move forward.  You can expect changes in our current government, though not well received at first; they will have a positive outcome at large.  Unfortunately I also see that there will be a continued struggle and battle for health care for those that need it as well.

            At some point there is a problem with our fuel supply with a lot of talk about tapping into our national reserve.  There also appears to be a terrorist attack on US soil that cannot be avoided.  With this attack there will be some type of public “Vaccination”. I see this as widespread and affecting all US citizens.

            The largest increase in the job market will come from small businesses instead of large corporations.  There will be many cut backs in large corporations and some that will not be able to hang on any longer.  However, there will be an unexpected growth in entrepreneurs and small businesses across the country.  Small businesses that have barely been hanging on will turn around and begin to thrive.

            There will be an increase in national disasters as well as their magnitude as our seasons begin to change there past patterns.  With this there will be an increase of religious organizations as people begin to worry that the end in near. 

            People’s patterns will begin to change.  There will be a significant decrease in those that travel abroad as they choose to stick closer to home.  There is also a significant decrease in the purchase of new homes and new automobiles.  This is basically due to people getting back to the basics and remembering what is important.  You will see more large spread downsizing, and a lot that will begin to “Save for a rainy day”.

            In matters of the heart you will see more relationships forming than ending.  Long term relationships and marriages will be on the rise, as you will see a decrease in the divorce rate.

            A break through will occur in medical treatment of many now known diseases.  This will be as a result and the use of oxygen.  It will be discovered how something so simple can treat many symptoms of diseases and an increase and demand for hypobaric oxygen chambers.  There will also be an increase of homeopathy and holistic practices as people have the need to get back to the basics.  Diet and exercise will definitely be on a large-scale increase in 2013.

            Overall, this will be a year of people planning ahead and establishing a “Plan B”.  An alternative to their current living situations.

October "Rants & Raves"

October has been eventful month weather wise here in Virginia.  The month began warm enough for me to finish up some of my backyard projects.  Ending with Hurricane Sandy coming to town.  Lucky for us, we did fine during the storm.  Unfortunately, it does appear that some of my clients have been hit hard. 

Other than the weather October has been a busy month of psychic readings, paranormal concerns, radio shows, and filming for the “Junot Files”.  And of course, I always have new projects in the works!

I have run a $99 special on my Reiki Course for the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness month with a great response.  I also had several inquiries from people looking to purchase the course for someone else.  With that said, I will extend the $99 sale throughout the holiday season ending December 31, 2012.  (For more information on Reiki, or Reiki for pain management, please feel free to email me at Jackie@ms-swami.com)

It appears that paranormal activity has been on an increase!  Cases are coming in quicker than I can respond.  This is pretty normal for this time of the year.  If you have emailed me a concern, please know that I am responding to everyone in order they were received. Also, for those at the local level, there will be a Ghost Hunting 101 available in the month of November.  That information will be released soon!

The rate for psychic readings will remain the same throughout the remainder of the year. I would also like to remind you that Mercury Retrograde begins Nov 6^th to Nov 26^th.  This is generally not the time to begin anything new and the time for the unexpected.

In taking a look at how this Retrograde will affect us, I can say that this one will be one of the unexpected.  Things that you thought would not materialize will, and things you thought would materialize will fall through.  Though I don’t see this Retrograde as being as negative as most, I will say it will indeed be all about “Change”.

September "Rants & Raves"

It is hard to believe that it is officially fall. On the other hand I am looking forward to the leaves turning, pumpkins, and Halloween! Upcoming in October, I have a friend visiting from out of town and my daughter gets a fall break from college. I’m glad to report that I am hearing lots of positives shifts and changes with my clients and expect that will continue in October. (However, November brings the month of the “Unexpected”.) I really don’t expect that our election month is going to go as planned. I really had a BLAST this month with Todd & Phil on Haunted Voices Radio! What a wonderful show and their commentary really ties everything together! If you missed the show you will find it on their website in the archives. For those that called in, thank you for emailing me or contacting me on Facebook. I LOVE hearing the positive feedback. This is definitely a radio show that I will do again! Meanwhile, check my Events calendar for another upcoming radio show in October. My local group Central VA Psychic Development & Paranormal Research is returning to Sailor’s Creek tomorrow. This was the second battlefield 72 hours prior to Lee’s surrender in Appomattox were 7700 men were killed. There is a lot of activity and a lot of great history there. It also appears that my paranormal team CVAPI, is getting geared up for a busy season of investigations this fall. August "Rants & Raves"

Month 8 of the year and the year appears to be flying by! I associate August with “Wrapping up summer”. It seems every time I turn on the television I see a commercial for “Back to school”. August in Virginia hasn’t been that bad so far. We have had a few bad storms and a few hot days, but a lot lower humidity. I am still hoping that since June took so long to actually warm up, that we will clear hurricane season here this year. Speaking of “Back to school”, my daughter is returning to college this year beginning next week. She appears really excited about it as she is working on her degree in psychology. August bought us the end of Mercury Retrograde and a lot of meteor showers this month. This has sent a lot of good, high, positive energy all around. Unfortunately I did not see the first shooting star! I am hearing a lot of positive transformations from my clients at this time. Relationships are taking off; businesses are doing better, and overall just a positive shift in energy. Although spring and summer are my favorite seasons, there are certain things that I look to in the fall. For one the changing colors of the leaves! I am a guest on a few radio shows upcoming this fall and will post some of them soon. One coming up in the month of September is a two-hour call in show for psychic readings, and they do offer Internet access for you to listen if you are not local. She lives with my aunt approximately 15 to 20 minutes away. Overall she is doing well and has good days and bad days. I am happily surprised to find how many times Reiki has been mentioned for cancer patients and appears in various publications on pain management! Although I personally am a big supporter and believer in Reiki, I was thrilled to see how many times this has been recommended! For those of you that have never tried Reiki, you REALLY don’t know what your missing!

July "Rants & Raves"

The month of July has gone by so fast that I almost forgot to get this blog up! Summer is indeed my favorite season of the year. Though we will see some hot days here in August, I always take note that the sun's position begins to change, indicating fall is around the corner. August and September also bring the beginning of hurricane season, and I am hoping the best for everyone. It looks like we are now in the middle of Mercury Retrograde, ending on August 8th. Though this moon phase brings many mixed emotions, it has indeed been a positive Retrograde for clearing out the old, and lining up new projects. I have spoke with many that have had a run of "good luck" recently, and hope I will see that continue. I have numerous emails from my local clients seeking a reading. I am no longer offering readings at Sideline Cafe. If you are local, this does not mean that I will not meet you in person. It does mean that we can meet somewhere else, and if you are in the Chester area, I don't mind coming to you. I am not conditioned to Tuesday evenings, however, this is a good time for me. I have had to make some adjustments to my schedule due to some upcoming projects. If you are local please email me at Jackie@ms-swami.com and I will see what I can set up for you. My paranormal team CVAPI, has lots of exciting investigations coming up, and in the next few days, I will start putting those on the schedule. As well as I still have a couple of projects I am working on in my backyard. I also had a wonderful time pet setting for some friends this month. I do have good news myself for the month of July, as my daughter has registered and has decided to return to college this fall as a full time student! It also appears that I may have some upcoming changes to a couple of my websites and I'm pretty happy about as well. It is the end of the month. Weekly Forecast

I have received many inquiries regarding the "Weekly Forecast". It is indeed the same price with either 4 or 5 weeks in the month. It is a subscription service through PayPal and you will find more information on the service here. I HAVE experienced problems with cell phone delivery in certain areas over seas. This same service is available via email. Your forecast will deliver anywhere from Sunday afternoon to late Monday evening. I have very little control on what time they deliver. For those that have this set to cell phone service, please consider the email option to prevent your phone from going off in the middle of the night! ALSO, those delivered by email tend to be a little longer as I am not capped off, on what I can send. YES I am aware it is now July! I had planned on getting this up over the weekend but unfortunately; we were without power all weekend, due to a "Twister" like storm on Friday night. I am really glad to see summer arrive! (Excluding the storms.) Spring and summer are my favorite seasons of the year. I have spoke with a lot of you that are planning vacations and wish you all the best! It appears that I am almost caught up and I appreciate your patience! The summer solitice brings about new beginnings for most everyone. It also brings the heat waves, so be careful! I have received many messages that some are having problems accessing that particular page from your smartphones, and we are indeed working on it! Due to the heat and my crazy schedule this month, I have not been able to post a local event for Central VA Psychic Development & Paranormal Research. I hope to set up something for the end of July. May's Rants and Raves....

What a rough month it has been in the Tomlin household! I would almost swear we were under Retrogade! Unfortunately, my daughter and I have been through two back to back deaths of our friends this month, and hoping that things are now turning around on a more positive note. In addition, we have an abandoned construction job in the backyard, that I am happy to say, is now coming up on completion. (We have also had our Maine Coon a little under the weather.) I have had some emails regarding my new adventure with "Body wraps by Jackie", though my schedule has been tight this month, things are going well. April's Rants and Raves...

Another month is quickly passing by! We are still dealing with the crazy spring weather here in Virginia. One day it feels like spring and the next like fall. As of this week, I believe the worst of the pollen will be over. (I'm hoping so anyway!) It's been a busy month for psychic readings, and I LOVE it when I'm busy! My new adventure has begun with the body wraps and this has been a tremendous amount of fun! I love seeing everyone's reaction as well as meeting new people. On the homefront, I had friends tear off my old deck (several years old) and they have begin installing a patio in its place. Due to an illness, this project has been placed temporarily on hold. In other news, I am "slowly" trying to talk my daughter into taking the position of my Administrative Assistant this summmer. (I soooo HATE paperwork!) My newsletter went out this month and I recieved several touching emails regarding my Mother. Thank you everyone! She is doing well, and I will certainly keep you posted! On the paranormal side of things, I have had to reschedule a couple of things this month for both CVAPI, as well as Central Virginia Psychic Development & Paranormal Research. CVAPI currently is working on a new project that I will discuss later on. As far as Central Virginia Psychic Development & Paranormal Research, I have a lists of places that I hope we will visit over the summer. Spring does bring about new beginnings for almost everyone! Now is the time to address any projects that you may have been putting off. I can say that I cannot help but notice everyone's positive attitude lately! I am super excited that today is the first day of spring! Spring and summer are indeed my favorite seasons. My availiability for readings will be a little sporadic this upcoming weekend (March 23rd, March 25th) as I have friends coming in from out of town.
As of today I am welcoming the employees from NJVC in Vienna, Virginia as part of thier perks program. I am really excited about this!
Though I am excited about spring, it is hard to believe that the first quarter for 2012 is almost over. Time is really flying by! This included two large psychic parties in both Fairfax, Virginia and Virginia Beach to which I met some wonderful people at both and had a super fantastic time.
CVAPI, has wrapped up another successful paranormal investigation this month and will move on to the next one in April. If you are local, there will be a free presentation March 31st at Sideline Cafe on "Its all about ghosts".
Also Saturday April 7th, I will be available for live readings at Kahnee's Korner Consignment (More info under EVENTS at www.ms-swami.com)from 11AM to 3PM. This will remain in effect the first Saturday of every month, so if you live in Virginia, I hope you will make arrangements to come and see me!
In meeting so many people this month I have found that one question sticks out to everyone. When did I know? I think that I knew in my early teenage years. In speaking with some family members, I am told that there were signs of it much earlier than that. (I do remember of being terrified of our family cemetery in which was in my Grandmother's yard.) As a teenager, it began with "flashes" like short films. (Enough to make you think your nuts.) I also remember a lot of premonitions in my dreams of things that were to come. (This still occurs on occasion.) Basically, I felt strange and awkward thinking there was something seriously wrong with me.
In my early twenties I began "playing" with it. What could I predict? Was I accurate? This eventually led me to do readings for family, friends and co-workers. I did this for several years. It was a family member that gave me the push to apply and work for the first online service part-time. This was the BIG turning point for me. It wasn't the fact that I was being paid, it was the fact that I accepted it, and others had accepted me.
Why do I say this was the big turning point? Because I changed completely. An internal peace that I cannot explain. With that the visions became more detailed and it appeared that I was seeing things that I did not believe were possible.
If you are one of those that have a gift of any sorts, the best advice I can give you is to accept it. Change will indeed occur once you do!
Even though the price of gas is going up, and the economy is still off, I am looking for spring to bring some positive changes. Even though we are currently under Mercury retrograde, I have seen a shift in most that I have read for and its to the positive! I will try to get a spring newsletter out in April so make sure that I have your email address on file!
I do tend to back up on emails from time to time, however, I also read every one of them. Don't ever hesitate to send me an email.
