July 2014 "Rants & Raves"

Funny how I got up this morning thinking I would go ahead and write my blog, and here it is 10:30 at night.  Another month has been flying by.  However, Virginia weather has not been all that bad for the month of July.  Unfortunately, I am beginning to see signs of an early fall.

We had family come in from Florida and stay with us this month.  Jaselyn was so good!  (But she always is!)  I also went to a brunch and saw some friends that I had not been able to see in months.  It’s so good to reconnect!  I hope to end the summer with having a get together here.  I am also VERY grateful for a friend showing up at 9:30pm last night to cut our grass!  (Yes, I broke the lawn mower.)  Even though it was cut at night, I have to admit it looks better than me doing it in the daylight!

I have not had a vacation yet.  I hope to sneak away for a couple of days in August, but we will see how that goes.  The month of August is when I try to line up events for the fall.  In November, CVAPI will appear at Pamunkey Library in Mechanicsville VA for Ghost Hunting 101, free to the public.  We also have several pending investigations coming up.

This Friday, August 1^st, one of our best cases will air on “A Haunting” on Destination America at 10PM.  The episode is called “Demons Revenge” and I am very excited to see it!  (I do plan to post more about that particular case at a later date.) 

I can share with you a funny thing about filming.  They picked me up at 6:30AM.  Twenty minutes after leaving my home I was asked, what was I wearing?  (It was February and I had on a coat.)  Well, I apparently had on the wrong color.  (Nope didn’t get the email on hair, makeup and wardrobe.)  So they want me in a solid color coral shirt.  I don’t even OWN a coral shirt!  So, the next plan is to delay filming, wait for the department stores to open and go shopping.  I placed a call to my daughter who called me back to say, “Good news, I have one solid color coral shirt”.  “And better yet, IT”S CLEAN.”  So thanks to my daughter filming went as scheduled.  It was probably sometime around lunch time (Or when I actually woke up), that I asked, “Why a coral shirt?”  Because it works with my complexion, hair, lighting, background, etc etc.  And a free fashion tip on the color palette that works for me.  So what did I learn?  I have been wearing the WRONG colors all of my life!  I have since tried to add those colors to my wardrobe.  (And I still don’t own a coral shirt).  But I have to ask…..How many of you could pull out a solid color coral shirt from your closet at 6:30AM?? ?

So for the month of July I have hit the cardio workouts harder than normal.  I must say a pedometer is the best investment EVER!  It will certainly show you how much, or how little you actually move in a day.  Not to mention that I sleep much better.  (Which is always a problem for me anyway.)

I have certified two in Reiki this month.  The Rieki course remains on sale until the end of July.  On a suggestion from one that is currently taking the course, I may very well set up a forum for Reiki so you may interact with one another.  (YES, I do promise I will get to the blog on Reiki!)

The "Reality" of Reality TV

This is a topic that I have been meaning to discuss for a while now and will probably publish this to both of my blogs.  In filming three separate episodes for different shows, there appears to be a lot that the general public is not aware of.  The next thing I want to discuss is the “Bashers” of psychic television, paranormal television, and Reality TV in general.

The first thing I want to start by saying, is what you see on TV, actually took days to film.  So what you are actually viewing is the highlights of what was filmed.  “Reality” TV, means that they are real people, (or real families), they are not actresses or actors.

You will also hear people state that Reality TV is scripted.  Some of it is, but what does that mean?  Let me see if I can give you an example.  Lets say production has asked me to meet up with these 3 people, at this restaurant, and discuss this topic.  That is about as scripted as it gets.  Production will film it, and they will use what they see fit, no one is reading from an actual script.  Now, also notice that the 3 people I am meeting were filmed coming in.  That is because they were met up the road and each has their mics (microphones) on.

Now speaking of microphones.  Do you ever notice on shows were they “run into” someone?  They have on microphones and yes, you can tell.  (Some shows do not.)  I can tell you that you will not be filmed for National Television and NOT sign a consent form to be on a show.

An exception to the rule of “Scripted” would be any show filmed that use re-enactments.  These are actual people stating their stories, but actresses and actors do the re-enactment part reading from an actual script that production has provided.  It also may be a set and not the actual location to which they are discussing.

Production companies like to use a neat trick called the “Voice Overlay”.  What does this mean?  Let me give you an example.  Lets say, in watching a show, you heard me say “this”.  That was indeed my voice you heard, but NOT in that particular conversation.  This could have been  filmed two days prior in a totally different conversation.  How can you tell?  Because you won’t see me on TV saying it.  It will be my voice with another scene.

After the episode has gone through several edits, who has the final say?  The Network.  They are the final decision on what is aired.  What are they looking for?  Ratings. 

So why do people watch Reality TV?  Because they LIKE it!  They like the people, the families, the subject matter, story line,  or what they represent.  It is known as “Entertainment”.  Why do the “Bashers” watch it?  Because they need a life.  With all the causes that they could represent to do some good in the world, this is what they have dedicated their time to in hopes of recognition.

However, I am sure that the actual Networks are grateful for them boosting their ratings.  Any Network can see the number of dedicated fans out weighs the “Haters” of the show by far.

A little off the topic here, but I also know someone who has their story done into a Lifetime Movie.  (Notice it says “BASED ON a true story.”)

In the last 3 months, several different individuals have contacted me about people “Bashing” popular psychics on television as well as paranormal shows.  These “Bashers” are nothing more than “Glorified Stalkers” that are seeking a following.  Some have dedicated websites to support their beliefs and some have fallen so far off their rockers that they have even self publish books on different Reality series.  These idiots have contacted me before as well as people I know.

This is when I hear the famous phrase of “I KNOW FOR A FACT….”  This is also followed by: (from me)

“Do you know these people personally?”  NO

“Have you ever met these people?”  NO

“Where you there when it happened?”  NO

“Where you there when it was filmed?”  NO

“Did production acknowledge you or ask you to be on TV?”  NO

(hmmmmm…..all very interesting.)

Next will come, “I HAVE INTERVIEWED THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS”.  Really?  Because you are unable to validate any of it by stating it is “Confidential”.  Well I can tell you what IS indeed “Confidential”.  The contract between the person filming and the production company as to what can be discussed.  (One would not think it would take a rocket scientist to figure that out.)  So why do people with television appearances refuse to answer to these people?  Because they don’t HAVE to and who are they anyway?

To anyone in the news field, that will actually give these idiots the time of day, I would like to suggest that you fire your researcher, because you have now tainted your own credibility.  These people have dedicated their time and energy to “EXPOSE or INVESTIGATE” one thing only and that is TELEVISION……Seriously?  (Obviously their parents never taught them not to believe everything they see on TV.) 

To those that appear on these shows, my hats off to you for taking the high road!  You are doing something right!  (In all honesty, I watch very little psychic and paranormal television, but do watch other reality shows.) 

To the “Bashers” if ANY of you EVER contact me again, I will do nothing more than refer you right back to this blog.  The very idea that you are “investigating or exposing” something seen on television is ABSURD.  The only thing you are doing is publicly stalking people. I would also like to lend some advice to those that hate Reality TV……TURN THE CHANNEL!!!

June 2014 "Rants & Raves"

Welcoming the month of June and the first day of summer hit on the 21^st.  (My favorite season of the year!)  Today I am celebrating 8 years on my website.  It is hard to believe that 8 years ago, it actually launched as a 3 to 5 page site.  So, for the remainder of the month, one-hour phone readings for $98 and the Reiki course remains on sale, with an additional discount to groups of 4 or more.  (Email me, for an appointment for a one-hour reading.)

I can say that June has been a rather productive month as far as me getting some things done that I had been putting off.  My daughter and I have also really enjoyed having Jaselyn outside and spending some pool time with her.

I do have an issue that I want to address this month.  That pertains to the bashing of psychics and the paranormal and a few other things on television.  I have a LOT to say about this so I plan to do so on a separate blog.

Live readings have been put on hold until I find another local venue.  As an alternative, you may want to check into hosting a Psychic Party.

I have run into some problems with scheduling appointments in advance.   I am in Virginia and in the Eastern Time Zone.  Understandably, a lot of you are in a different time zones.  Though I express this when setting the appointment, you can generally go to “Google”  to find the time zone conversion.  If you are having a problem with this PLEASE just let me know.

I have a lot of writing to get done, and just waiting for that notion to strike me.  I actually came across something I began a few years back that I was really impressed with.  The problem appears to be in finding the time to do so.

I do get a lot of questions on Reiki and will see if I can give you a brief summary of it.  It pertains to “Energy healing”.  Learning the “Chakras”  (the energy fields), and how to align them.  It is also used for the “Greater good”, meaning the intent is to heal or relieve pain in the areas needed.  Will it cure things?  NO.  It is wonderful for pain management, or centering and grounding yourself.  If you have any questions or anything you would like to discuss, don’t hesitate to email me.

Mercury Retrograde ends on July 1^st.  I have several varying reports of some that this retrograde has hit them hard, to some that say it has not been that bad.  Either way, you are coming up on the end of it.  The next Retrograde will hit October 4^th to October 25^th.  You can always find these dates on my website under the Free Horoscopes, as well as the traits of the zodiac and compatibility.

The month of July, it is all about new beginnings and getting things done!

Now to answer the most popular question that I get:

What do people ask you when they call?

-         Love Life (Most popular) Separation or divorce, long term or short terms, if someone is coming in their love life, are things ending, infidelity, and just about anything pertaining to love.

-         Career – Have they chosen the right career, job changes, new jobs, searching for a job, self-employed, problems at work, income, seminars and conventions, and anything pertaining to their career.

-         Money -  lack of, investments and purchases, the sale of home or property, residential moves, income potential, what the future holds, loans, those that have borrowed from them, etc.

-         Family & Friends – relationship problems, trust issues, when will they get together, vacations, etc.

-         Education – If they have chosen the right path, when they will return, funding, college, etc.

-         Missing – persons, pets and items.  (More on this below.)

That is not everything obviously, but that will give you a general idea.  My clients come from all over and all walks of life.

With one of my television appearances being on the Animal Planet, I really want to stress that I am NOT a “Pet Psychic”.  NO ONE can read your pet better than you.  However, I am good at locating them when missing and have done so many times for my friends and clients.  In regards to “Missing persons”, I do NOT get involved unless a family member or a detective directly contacts me.  (I also do not charge for this.)  And of course, I have a mouthful to say about psychics that do jump in the middle of an open investigation.

May 2014 "Rants & Raves"

As we are coming out of Memorial Day, I thought this would be a good time to update my blog.  This is not a day about a day off, picnics, the beach etc.  But a day to remember those that lost their lives for our freedom.  (Also to support the families of those that have lost their loved ones).

It seems I have accomplished a lot this month, though it also flew by too quickly.  Living in Virginia, we are a state that gets to see all four seasons in their entirety.  Spring and summer are my favorite seasons.

This year, I spent the month taking care of last year’s problems in my backyard.  We had a Gazebo that I had spent the entire spring and summer trying to repair from being damaged by the snow.  IT IS GONE!  A new one has been installed.  Remnants of the old one are now turning into a pergola.  (A nice surprise from something destroyed.)  Also we had struggled with our above ground pool for the last two seasons after putting it on chlorine.  After a conversion process, it is no longer on chlorine and I am crossing my fingers because it appears that, so far so good.  I have one remaining section of the fence that is being replaced this week, so I am ready for the summer to begin!  My herb garden is coming along nicely as well.  I am trying some new things this year, so I will keep you posted on how that goes.

I have spent some time “Reflecting” this month.  Mother’s Day was a lovely day this year and I could not help but to remember my Mom.  Also her birthday is coming up (May 30^th).  It was also wonderful to see my daughter celebrate her first Mother’s Day with Jaselyn.

Honestly in looking back over the last few years, I believe I can finally say, “I am in a good spot!”  So much has occurred over the years, it is so nice to see things settle down.  For the first time in a long time it feels that everything has a “Natural flow” to it.  Does this mean that I am all caught up on my projects?  NO, I don’t think that will ever happen.  Just a timeframe that I really enjoy what I do.  I am also looking forward to a couple of new things coming up.

One of my biggest concerns now is my Siberian Husky “Sasha” as she ages.  She will soon turn 14 years old and her hips are giving out on her.  Though she caught her second wind when Jaselyn was born, her age is catching up with her.

I do want to talk about those that contact me for “Same day” appointments.   By all means, you may continue to do so.  However, I can only seem to accommodate this 75% of the time.  A lot of this is due to the fact that I am working with varying time zones.  Also a lot of people set their appointments a day or two in advance, therefore my day may already be booked up.  Either way, I do try to work you in the same day if you request it.  (And yes, I had a couple of clients that threw a fit that I couldn’t get to them right then.)

“Same day” appointments in person can be tricky.  Local readings are done at a venue, so if I have someone move the time or postpone then yes I can get you in.  For those that are seeking a reading locally, I can generally accommodate this on a couple of days notice.  (There again, it depends on the venue that I am using.)

Email readings remain the same; I can generally honor these within a 24-hour turnaround.  It is rare, but every now and then I will get backed up on these.  If that is the case, you will generally hear from me.

I have had a few that have emailed me about my living situation.  It appears that several have daughters that live at home that are now expecting.  I have to admit when I got the news of my daughter’s pregnancy I was a little overwhelmed on what all needed to be done in our home and with thoughts of baby stuff everywhere.  And yes, there is baby stuff everywhere.  What you will find is once they are born; you would not have it any other way!

The first few weeks you can expect to help out around the clock.  Newborns never sleep when you would like them to.  (I am sure you remember this.)  Next, I don’t “Raise” Jaselyn, and that is how these emails are being presented to me….How will you raise a grandchild?  I “Babysit” Jaselyn.  This means when her Mom gets home I am HANDS OFF.  Unless I want to snatch her up to play, or watch her while her Mom showers, I do nothing.  The other big thing….I don’t give unwanted advice!  I am fully confident in my daughter’s parenting abilities, and she is truly an amazing Mother.  I am on “Standby” for questions or if she wants to talk.  (I didn’t want someone to tell me how to raise her, so I am sure she feels the same!)  So remember that!  Be there for them when they need you, other than that, it looks like everything just feel into place.  No big secrets, just working together to get her on a schedule.

Just because they are under your roof does NOT mean you have a child to raise.  You become a Grandma, and cherish every moment of it.  I am Jaselyn’s “Mimi” and love every minute of it. ( My husband and I actually lived with my Grandmother when my daughter was born. ) Things will ALWAYS work out.  I am very blessed to be able to run my business, have a personal life, and both of them in my life as well.

April 2014 "Rants & Raves"

This month has gone by super fast!   Here it is the end of April and I feel as though we just had Christmas.  I am really happy to see spring is here.  Things are coming into bloom and I have big plans for the backyard.

I am really pleased that I accomplished a lot in the month of April.  I have cleaned out some clutter in my office, caught up on my paperwork, bought my accounting up to date and have managed to keep all of my appointments.  That is a good month!

I had a wonderful Easter with my daughter and Jaselyn.  I also got to see some of our extended family that I had not seen in years.  Jaselyn is growing like a weed and now has two bottom teeth.  Time is flying!

I will return to downtown Richmond to Aqua on Tuesday May 6thand Tuesday May 20th.  psychic readings begin at 7pm.  I will also be available in the Chester area at least one Saturday in the month of May.

In regards to the “Free email follow up”, I am keeping this in place.  Please understand that sometimes I get backed up on emails and it may take a day for me to respond.  In the event that you have not received a response from me within 48 hours, please feel free to email me again.  I have a bad habit of reading emails with intentions of responding and will run into an appointment and forget about it.  (I’m working on this!)

March 2014 "Rants & Raves"

As I write this it is hard to believe that we are coming up on the end of the first quarter for 2014.  Time is flying by!  It has been wonderful to welcome spring though the weather here in Virginia does not seem to want to cooperate.  I am beginning to think that Mother Nature is bipolar. 

I am actually anxious about beginning to work in the yard.  Once again, I am revamping the entire back yard.  (A never-ending project around here.)  I am also ready to get my herb and lavender garden underway.  I have a friend with a greenhouse who starts my seeds for me.  (Cheating)

March has been a busy month of working my website, a couple of events as well as accounting.  Accounting, yes I hate it!  However I am more than pleased with the progress that has been made considering tax day is right around the corner. 

I have to admit that my YouTube channel has been neglected this month.  Time will permit for that soon.  The same as a meeting for CentralVirginia Psychic Development & Paranormal Research, I ran out of month!  (A paranormal meeting is in the works for the month of April.)

My spring newsletter went out this week.  As a matter of fact, all week it seems.  I generally send out four a year, one each quarter.  I have to admit as the subscriber’s list grows I am torn about continuing to send this out verses publishing it here or on my website.  I have many that look forward to it and many that will inquire or state that they did not receive it.  This is a continuing battle with the spam filters, so I am now looking at this option instead.

Though I have offered Psychic Development to groups, I have recently started this as a phone session and seeing a lot of success.  I do want to remind you that this is done by appointment only.  They generally take an hour and a half, but I ask that you set aside two hours.  The first part is your assessment, while the second part is on development.

Events for the month of April are filling up quickly.  I will  continue to be at the Aqua Lounge in Shockoe Bottom in downtown Richmond the first and third Tuesday of the month.  I am also looking forward to working the Spring Fling Sunday April 6^th in Chester.  There I will have the Reiki Course as well as offer psychic readings.  Other vendors there will include Thirty-one, Jamberry Nails, Orgami Owl, Avon, Tupperware, Scentsy, It Works, and Tastefully Simple.  This should be a LOT of fun.

Do you use an agency?

No I don’t and never have. So please don’t have them contact me.  I prefer working with people one on one for events or appearances.  An agency will tend to keep me on the road more than what I would like or keep up with.

Do you ever do readings for other psychics?

Yes.  Psychics have a hard time reading for themselves.  That applies to me as well.  We only get very little information verses the whole picture.  It is very common for us to trade readings from time to time.

Do you have any new projects in the works?

Yes.  This has to do with the psychic realm of things and will be ongoing for the next few months.  There will be more to come on this at a later date.

Have you ever met someone that you did not want to read for?

Not really.  I have met negative people as we all do from time to time.  Some drain me more than others and I think that is common.

Do you plan to keep your free email follow up?

I am trying.  As long as I can keep up, yes, it will stay in place.

What exactly is Reiki?

I am getting this a LOT.  It is also known as the “Healing Touch” or “Energy Healing”.  Hang in there with me as I plan to write a blog on nothing but the topic of Reiki.

What is your personal opinion on horoscopes?

Coming from someone that writes them once a month, I find that they are fun.  They are a generalized measurement of time for each zodiac sign.  Even if published daily I don’t find that they carry a lot of weight.  Just fun.  It is funny though, those that don’t believe in psychic abilities or the paranormal, I find are usually the ones that read their horoscopes every morning.

How is Jaselyn?

Wonderful, a delight, a shear joy, and a breath of fresh air!  She has a really great personality and learns something new almost daily.  Her and her mom, make everything I do ….WORTH IT!

February 2014 "Rants & Raves"

What a short and crazy month this has been!  I think I can credit a lot of this to Mercury Retrograde running from Feb. 6^th to Feb. 28^th.  (A high energy Retrograde I might add.)  The month for me began with renewing my business license as well as my notary commission.  (This always takes nearly a whole day for whatever reason.)

Thank you to those that came out to the Aqua Lounge in Downtown Richmond this month.  I will be returning there in March on Tuesday March 4^th and Tuesday March 18^th, psychic readings begin at 7PM.  Feel free to email me for details.  Also a thank you to those that attended the second Tarot Card Workshop.  This workshop will be offered online through my website very soon! (It has been delayed a little longer than I originally had planned.)

Jaselyn and I have worked out a schedule that fits both her needs and mine.  As you can see by her Valentine’s Day picture, she is growing like a weed!  (A refreshing change to last Valentine’s Day when I lost my Mother.)

I spent a full day in the studio this month filming an episode of “A Haunting” from one of our cases in 2009.  I love this show!  I also loved the fact that it is an hour to which I think the family was able to get out their story in its entirety.  I have to admit that I was a little skeptical going into this case with what they reported.  Boy, did that location prove me wrong!  I can say that we could back up their claims with some footage to prove some of what they reported.  It was GREAT to reunite with them and see how well they are doing today.  They described the filming as “Therapy” to give them their final closure.  This is projected to air this summer on Discovery’s Destination America, and I will keep you posted.  If you have an interest in the paranormal be sure to visit our website. For the locals with a paranormal interest, I will set up a meeting for the public sometime in March.

It is amazing to see how my clients have evolved over the years.  From their psychic readings to the reports of the paranormal.  It certainly does make things worth my time!  As always, I continue to add new projects to my plate.  What is life without goals?

Will my case be on TV?

The immediate response to this question would be NO.

With so many paranormal shows, and paranormal specials appearing, this is now becoming a common question.  Our intention and focus is on YOUR case, not television.  On the flip side, we have also upped our screening process on cases to make sure that it is not YOUR intention.

I want to take the time to clarify some of this process.  We are indeed contacted by production companies on varying occasions throughout the year.  In addition, we have had homeowner’s submit their own cases to various shows.  So let me see if I can give you some insight as to how this works.

Let me give you an example of some of the questions a production company will approach us with:

-         Do you have a location with a history of….

-         Has anyone ever reported …

-         Have you had an investigation with….

-         Have you ever been in a location like…

-         Do you have a family that has experienced …

-         Do you have any cases that were not paranormal because of …

-         Do you have any footage of…

-         Do you have any families that need help with….

-         Have any families changed their lives because of …

-         Can you back the families claims with evidence of ….

That is just a short list to give you an idea of what we are asked on our end.  Now in the event that we have a case they are looking for, there are questions for the homeowner’s that may appear like this:

-         Are they comfortable with sharing their story?

-         Do they mind going on camera?

-         Are they looking for money?

-         Do they rent or own their home?

-         Will they allow production in their home?

-         Are they willing to travel?

On our end, we are looking at everything INCLUDING the production company that has contacted us:

-         Are they looking for the “worst of the worst” for ratings?

-         What have they produced before?

-         What kind of airtime are they looking at for this case?  (6 minutes or an hour?)

-         Have they ever produced anything with the paranormal before?  (That is a BIG deciding factor!)

In the event that we can make a match with all of these pieces, you will be contacted by either JACKIE or NIKKI.  (No one else portraying as CVAPI!)  Your information is NOT released to ANY production company unless we contact you first.  If you give us the go ahead for them to contact you directly then we will do so.  (For those that are submitting your own cases, we would appreciate the same in return.)

In reality, there is only a SMALL PERCENT that we can make a match to.  We have also had cases to which the homeowner has backed out of filming to which we are completely FINE with.  There is also no time limit as to when these cases occurred.  Recently we filmed our best case from 2009.  However, we have been asked before to return to the location for additional footage.

January 2014 "Rants & Raves"

Happy New Year to you all!  I am soooo glad the holidays are over!  I have spoke to a few of you that are kicking off the New Year with some New Year’s Resolutions and I think that is great!  Just keep them realistic so you don’t set yourself up for failure.

Remember that 2014 is all about “Change”.  If you continue to do the same thing you will get the same results.  It only takes a few small changes in your daily routine believe it or not, to change up everything.  Change your route to work, location of your grocery store, a different banking branch or a different route home.  You will be surprised what this can result in.  I know a few of you are beginning Reiki, Yoga, Meditation and workouts, that is wonderful, now stick with it!

This first of the year for me, has started with everything mechanical breaking down.  (Except the computers, I went through that back in August.)  Could it be because we have two Super Moons in this month of January?  I think I will choose to look at it as “Clearing out the old”.  I have also started the year with adding to my workout routine thanks to a friend of mine.  This has REALLY been a challenge for me.  I dropped two sizes at the end of last year, and that has given me the incentive to “Step it up”.  No special secrets, just eating right, working out and LOTS of water.

A couple of days ago, I was asked a question on Twitter of what professional psychic that I would recommend.  Though I have met several of the popular ones, I have not personally had a reading with them, so I really don’t know.  It is true that we have a hard time reading for ourselves and often trade readings.  Unfortunately, the two that I would recommend have married and are no longer offering readings.  I have a hard time recommending anyone that has not read for me personally.  Although I do encourage that you seek more than one source.

The best time to catch me for a psychic reading is in the afternoon, and late evenings until the wee hours of the morning.  This is because I deal with so many varying time zones.  If you are local and seeking a reading in person, I do offer them from time to time in the Chester area.  Upcoming in February, I will also offer them at the Aqua Lounge located on Main Street in downtown Richmond. (Check my “Events” calendar on my website.)

The Tarot Card Workshop Part II, is schedule for Saturday Feb. 1^st at 4PM in the conference room at the Econo Lodge in Chester, VA.  If you are interested in Part I, this will be offered online in Google Hangouts soon, so stay tuned.  You don’t have to be local for this.

For those that have asked me about Jaselyn, she is doing great and a real doll!  She will turn 2 months old this week.  The time is flying by!  Her mom has also returned to work.

A few of you emailed me in reference to a comment I made on my last blog about not giving a psychic your birthday.  I don’t believe in it!  I have yet to figure out “Why” they would need your birthday.  This will allow them to tune into your zodiac sign, to which they are bound to hit home with one of your traits.  This, along with several of my clients, have prompted me to do the video on Psychic Scams.  I have done a piece on this before, but I continue to hear from those that are out of thousands of dollars.

A glimpse into 2014...

Each year, I get many requests for the overall predictions for the upcoming year.  I have to admit that I am never crazy about publishing these.  Some can embrace and adapt to change while others will read the worst into these.   The same as some view our Nation as healing while others tend to fear the end.

Overall, 2014 appears to be the year of “Movement and advancement”.  What I mean by this is that many will advance towards their goals in 2014.  Taking the “Action” needed to get there.  This also appears to be the year of “Material items”.  Many will be making purchases that have been put on hold for the last few years.  Anything from appliances, vehicles, homes and home improvements. 

2014 appears to be “Financially moderate”, meaning that it will be better for most of us.  It does appear to be a year of slow progression.  For those into real estate, this appears to pick up late summer to mid fall of 2014. 

Overall this is a year of high emotions, with many highs and many lows.  (This has to happen to allow “Change” to occur.) This in itself will bring about a lot of restless energy.

Worldwide natural disasters appear to increase in magnitude.  Hurricane season from the Atlantic basin appears to be milder than normal.  I am anticipating problems to occur in California (Anaheim area) as well as Texas, (Dallas area). ( I really do not go too far into this because those that know me well, know how irritated I get that psychics claim to predict hurricanes and tornadoes during hurricane and tornado season!)

Problems with the US Government appear to continue throughout the year of 2014, this will affect many Government programs.  I also anticipate problems for those receiving assistance.  Will there be another Government shut down?  There will be many talks and discussions regarding this matter.  “IF” it occurs, I will describe it as being brief.

One thing that you can definitely count on is an increased military presence here in the US.  The delays that you see at the airlines since 9-11, is just the beginning.  Military presence will be seen in many places that were not seen before.

Mercury Retrograde is always a time frame in the year that you can expect the unexpected.  These are generally emotionally charged and are not the time to begin new projects.  The dates for Retrograde are:

February 6^th to February 28^th

June 7^th to July 1^st

October 4^th to October 28^th

December 2013 "Rants & Raves"

I am sure that most of you are running around getting geared up for the holidays. (For those that are traveling, be safe!)  This year I have opted out of the whole Christmas decorating scene.  With a new baby around there is not a lot of room, besides next year will be more of the time that she will be into the Christmas tree (literally) and into lights.  And yes, I am one of those last minute shoppers, so in other words my shopping will probably begin this week.  This year I have much to be grateful for and looking forward to the holidays!

A Sagittarius, yes, my birthday was on the 12^th, and I thank you all for the birthday wishes.  (Remember do not EVER give a psychic your birthday during a reading, because they can tap into your zodiac sign!)  This time of year brings many personable emails from pictures of your Christmas trees, family pets to family recipes.  Just to let you know I read every single one of them and enjoy them all!

The crazy Virginia weather has already bought us some ice, leaving us without power for a few hours.  I imagine that we can expect more of this in the month of January.  Around the same time, I did manage to get out my December Newsletter.  If you wish to be on the mailing list, please email me directly to Jackie@ms-swami.com.  I try to get these out each quarter as I believe monthly is excessive.  (And I personally HATE spam!)  Also, if you are not receiving them, and have not opted out, it is because I do not have your current email address!  Please contact me with your new email so I can get you back on the list.

For my Reiki practitioners, if you have not had the opportunity to work on an infant, I highly recommend it.  At 3 weeks old, Jaselyn had her first adjustment and what an amazing experience.  I have never seen charkas so out of alignment before, and I must say that she enjoyed it. 

I have received a couple of emails asking if the ReikiCourse can be purchased as a gift.  The answer to that is yes, as well as gift certificates for psychic readings.  This option is available year around by emailing me directly on my website.  The 12-month forecast is most popular this time of the year.  I would like to remind everyone that these are extensive reports that take me awhile to generate, so please allow 24-48 hours for delivery.

New in December, I have re-established my YouTube channel that was originally set up for me in 2010.  What you can expect is some Vlogs (Video Blogs, some of my psychic babbles, reiki, the paranormal, and a glimpse into my personal life.)  These videos will NOT replace my blog.  (More or less, in addition to.)  So please take the time to stop by and subscribe, as it will send you email notifications when a video is added.  I plan to upload a piece on 2014 astronomy in the next few days.  Also, in the next few days you can look for my blog on “Upcoming in 2014”, for some of next years predictions.

In 2014, I do plan to keep the “Free email follow up” for paid readings for as long as possible, for those that have paid for readings.  This gives a great opportunity for those that may have forgotten to ask a question during your reading.  Your free monthly horoscopes will remain for 2014.  January’s will include a glimpse of your year ahead.

November 2013 "Rants & Raves"

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!  It is amazing how things can change in the small course of 12 months.  Last year for Thanksgiving, I found myself having a complete meltdown when realizing it would be my last Thanksgiving with my mother.  This year I find myself celebrating with my new Granddaughter!

Meet "Jaselyn Cassidy"  born Friday November 22nd at 1:30PM, 6 lbs 2 oz and 19.5 inches long.  Both her and her mother came home this past Monday and both are doing well.  She made it on the first day of Sagittarius, and is a blonde.  (My Mother's side of the family.) Skin tone?  We will have to wait and see.  My Mother's side are all dark complected from a long blood line of Cherokee and Italians.  My daughter however is fair complected and a dirty blonde.  (Though her color changes constantly due to cosmetology.)
Overall she is a really good baby and I could not be happier for both of them!

Prior to Jaselyn's birth, November has been a really busy month for me.  I was delighted to have the Virginia Historical Society contact me to participate in their new documentary "Virginia Voices".  This is currently still in the works and will be released later in 2014.  My daughter and I are currently working on another filming project that we will be able to release more at a later date.

Vlogs?  Video Blogs.... I have been approached by a few as to if this is something I will do.  To be honest, I am considering it.  Possibly the first of the year?  I do have a new computer system with a webcam so it is possible.  By the way, I am new to Windows 8, so if you have any tips or advice to lend, I am certainly open to it as I am a little dumbfounded by this operating system.

November for me has been a month of "Reconnecting".  By that I mean that I have seen family and friends that I have not seen in years!  It has been wonderful!

My new ad campaign launched in the month of November (a little delayed) and is doing well.  (Groupon user's look for me there!) Due to the filming projects and my daughter's pregnancy, my availability has been a little "off" to say the least.  Currently I am back on track and available tonight and through the weekend.  The best time for psychic readings remains 1PM to 1AM Eastern.  For random holiday specials, be sure to follow me on Twitter.  I will be running a normal schedule for the month of December for the exception of a quick day trip to North Carolina that I am most excited about!

Upcoming in December I hope to work in a "Meet & Greet" for Central Virginia Psychic Development & Paranormal Research.  Hopefully I will be able to due this without short notice.  This will be for like-minded people to come together and share what we would like to do in 2014.  I have many inquiries to the Part II, of the Tarot Card Workshop, and as of now, that will take place in late January.

At some point in December I plan to start revamping our website for CVAPI. (Central Virginia Paranormal Investigations).  I am currently seeking a volunteer that is fluent with YouTube in helping me get some of our older case files online.  If you are interested, please email me at Jackie@cvapi.com.

A lot of my month of December is preparing my final accounting for the year, so I will be spending a lot of time in my office.

1.  I was a vegetarian for 7 years.
2.  I married in my senior year of high school.  (Married at 18, my daughter at 19, divorced at 20, and built        our home at 21).
3.  "Sasha" is my third husky and 13 1/2 years old.  I also have a soft spot for cats.  (We have two, one
     inside and one outside.)
4.  I rarely drink alcohol and when I do, the "Psychic senses" are more than wide open!
5.  I keep my social circle small because I HATE needless drama.
6.  Though I am a ghost hunter, I do not like closed in places (car window always cracked) and am scared
     of heights and reptiles.  (Yes, I hate frogs and blue tailed lizards may as well be the size of dragons!)
7.  I love to just pick up and "Go".  I am not much of a planner.  (A Sagittarius trait.)
8.  I am really into aromatherapy.   Lavender is my favorite scent and I grow my own.
9.  I LOVE to read and rarely take the time to do so.  I also had trouble learning to read as a child.
10.  I am really not that fond of chocolate and never have been.  (For the exception of chocolate pie!)
11.  I have ALWAYS thought that clowns are just creepy.
12.  I am 100% happy just being me!  :)

October 2013 "Rants & Raves"

So October is here, and we are under the full moon.  Funny, fall is not my favorite season, but so far I have really enjoyed it.  I have actually enjoyed watching the leaves change and the cool evenings. Besides, this is the month of Halloween, my absolute FAVORITE!

 

Now for the bad news…. This is just the beginning of Mercury Retrograde.  (October 21^st to November 10^th).  What can I say about this one?  It is going to be a doozie!  Upcoming projects can prove to be difficult.  Mechanically it will affect things.  But the biggest problem that I can see is the “Emotional Plain”  ahead.  This time frame is REALLY going to bring the emotions out in almost everyone, both good and bad.  This is one of those cases that the only way out is to just get through it.  However, if you are aware of it, it may make things a “Little” easier.

It seems I have been in a complete whirlwind this entire month.  It has been one project after another, including my daughter’s baby shower last weekend.  (That was totally awesome by the way!)  We have just found out that baby Jaselyn is small and breech.  Though she is not due until November 18^th, another ultrasound will take place on Halloween.  (Let me know what you think on a due date, I have said all along its November 5^th.).

 

My paranormal team CVAPI, also spent some time filming with our local news station WRIC Channel 8.  (A big thanks to the Byrd Theatre and Wrexham Hall!)  They will begin plugging the story the day before Halloween and it will air in 2 or 3 parts the day, night and evening of Halloween.  I had a really great time working with them.  For those of you out of the area, part of the story will go up on their website and I will post the links.

 

October is not over yet!  Next Sunday, October 27^th at 3PM, you can look for Ghost Hunting 101, here locally in Chester.  (All of the information will be posted tomorrow on CVAPI’s website.)  This is always a big hit, and fills up REALLY quick!  If your local don't forget to join

What else is coming up?  I have two meetings this coming week for new projects.  Both have to due with the psychic realm and the paranormal field.  I hope to be able to provide updates on this soon.

I’m also in discussions about my next big trip.  It looks like this will occur in the first quarter of the year.  NEW ORLEANS!  I’m so flipping excited about this I can’t stand it!  This has been on my list of places to visit for years!

Part of my month has also consisted of hiring a new CPA (as mine of many years retired).  And, setting up a new computer system.  Yes, after many years of being in business I am amazed at how things have expanded.  Though I started working part time as a psychic to the public in 2001, my website launched as a three page site in 2006.

 

I have also taken some “Still time” to reflect upon some things.  As in “where you were then and where you are now”.  (I recommend this to everyone by the way.)  Last October, was the beginning of the deterioration of my Mother’s health with breast cancer and two broken feet.  That seemed to set the pace for four of the worst months I think I have had in my entire life.  Looking back I am so glad that is behind me now! I am in a wonderful spot right now and continuing to move forward.

                    

As of now, I am playing the month of November by ear.  As I mentioned above, I have new projects that are in the making, family coming in from Florida, a baby arriving, a follow up to Tarot Card Workshop, and paranormal investigations.  A quick trip upcoming?  It appears so!

September 2013 "Rants & Raves"

I have been so busy working on varying projects that I am actually patting myself on the back for remembering to update my blog this month. J

I have lots of cool things to discuss while I am sitting here drinking “Candy Corn Coffee” (compliments of my daughter and its delicious!) 

I will start with an update on “Baby J”.  Jaselyn is due November 18^th (A Scorpio).  I have finally finished their room!  If you know me personally than you know I LOVE animal prints with leopard being my favorite.  It was just perfect when we came across the pink leopard print pattern!  The bedding is compliments of our family in Georgia.  My daughter is doing well (and getting bigger each week) and now visits the doctor every two weeks.   I am currently working on her baby shower plans for next month.

I have also spent a lot of time seeking the “Perfect cell phone case”. (I prefer the blinged out ones, but they get hung up in my hair.)  I have finally updated my cell phone and no longer in the stone ages!  I love the fact that my entire business is with me now all the time.  The next upgrade will be a computer.

I have spent the past week in negotiations with a company for a new advertising campaign in the month of October.  Right now this is geared towards the Richmond Market, which is something I have not tried in the past.  I do have the option to run this in other markets across the country, so I will see how well it does.

In the process of working on this advertising campaign, I have successfully crashed my main computer that runs all of my websites.  You may have noticed a couple of glitches in my website in the past week.  As of now, all appears to be well.  However, if you do find a problem PLEASE email me at Jackie@ms-swami.com  Most problems are not found until someone reports them to me.

Saturday September 21^st at 4PM, I am offering my “Tarot Card Workshop” at the local level.  Information can be found on my website.  These are a lot of fun and a LOT of information will be packed into that session.  Drinks and snacks will be provided and it will end with a free Group Gallery Reading for those that participate.  Be sure to reserve your spot asap.  (This is also available online or as private sessions.)

October is just around the corner.  Currently I am setting up for “Ghost Hunting 101”, which is ALWAYS a full house and a crowd pleaser.  Keep your eye on my paranormal website for the date and time.

I have had a lot of compliments to adding my Twitter feed onto the website.  I am still a little new to “Tweeting” but am trying to use this to update you on my availability for readings.

I have had a couple of people wanting to know if I will do any Reiki Certifications at the local level.  I am trying to work this in prior to the holidays, but no promises.

I have a lot of clients that follow me on Twitter, and Facebook.  If you really need to speak to me and message me on these services, please do not feel offended if I do not reply.  The emails on the social sites can tend to be a little overwhelming.  The best way to contact me is directly through my website.

On a personal note, Monday will begin Week #6 of a 12-week fitness challenge for me.  To be honest????  I am loving it!  (Yep, shocked me too!)  I am finally seeing results and am actually thinking about pushing it beyond 12 weeks.
